Presented as part of Medway River Lit www.medwayriverlit.co.uk
Medway River Lit, Medway’s new literature festival, presents international bestselling author Barbara Havelocke talking about Estella’s Revenge: The Fearless Daughter Of Great Expectations. From her very first reading of Great Expectations, Barbara fell in love with the story and writing. But she also felt dissatisfied with the ending Dickens gave the character of Estella, and found herself wanting to give the famous character her own voice. In ESTELLA'S REVENGE, a deliciously dark Gothic retelling, she does just this. Like Dickens, Barbara grew up close to the marshes and was a journalist keen to raise awareness of causes important to her. As Barbara Copperthwaite, she is the author of six best-selling psychological thrillers. She lives in Birmingham.
